1 Sam Springer SR,LHP/1B
R/L, All District 2014, 2015. 1.48 ERA, 47.1 IP, 60Ks..340,8 2b, 4
HR, 36 rbi
3 Cole Skvara SR, OF/LHP
L/L, All District in 2014, 2015. .279, 7 doubles.
4 Ben Kirby
SR, RHP/C/3B R/R, .429
5 Cooper Thomas SR, C/OF
R/R, All District in 2015. .291.
6 Kimon Swanson JR, RHP/OF
R/R, Honorable Mention All District in 2015. .347. 1.44 ERA.
2016 TEAM OUTLOOK:
Offensively, the Rebels are excited about the lineup they will put
on the field. There is a good mix of speed and power in the lineup.
Most of the lineup are juniors and seniors that have been starting
since they were freshman. Cooper Thomas and Chase Marine can be game
changers on the bases at the top of the order. The middle of the
order with Adam Cupp, Sam Springer, and Cole Skavara can hit for
power and average. The bottom of the order could have lots of speed
in Ben Kirby, Kimon Swanson, Tyler Morton, Jake Johnson and Marquis
Taylor or power and average in Cal Cook, Eli Cox, Jackson Sexton,
and Roland Ryan. There are more moving parts and depth in the lineup
than ever before at West.
In the past, the Rebels have lacked defensive depth. Hopefully this
year, the Rebels have overcome those issues. There has been
competition all over the field and that has contributed towards
making the defense better. The outfield is loaded with speed and the
infield has depth that prevents a drop off when the infielders
pitch.
The pitching staff may be the most exciting part of the 2016
Rebels. Sam Springer, Jake Johnson, Ben Kirby, and Cole Skvara are
senior pitchers who have many innings of experience. Newcomer
Marquis Taylor is a 6'4 LHP that will also be a big help on the
mound. Eli Cox, Adam Cupp and Chase Marine are all hard throwing
juniors that will play a big role on the mound. Kimon Swanson is
another junior, that was a big surprise last year, that will add
depth on the mound. Sophomores Cal Cook and Roland Ryan will also
be important additions on the mound. Ryan can potentially throw many
innings because he pitches from both sides.
In 2015, the team was riddled with injuries and struggled to
overcome those injuries. The 2016 version of the Rebels has great
potential, but they have to prove themselves. West plays in what
may be the best and deepest district in the state. This provides
many challenges that this years Rebels are ready to embrace. |

COMMENTS
1 Joe Fulcher Sr. RHP/OF signed with
Vanderbilt, one of the best pitchers in the state
2 Jacob Sawyers Sr. RHP/OF signed with
Freed-Hardeman, great two way player
3 Corey Simmons Jr. SS/RHP unsigned, top of the
line-up guy with great hands
4 Garrett Baugh Jr. 3B/2B unsigned, great competitor
and all-district in football this fall
5 Dusty Baker Sr. LHP unsigned, will be a great
late addition to some schools signing class
6 Steven Kendrick So. C/RHP/3B unsigned, good
versatile player with very good power
2016 TEAM OUTLOOK:
Offensively we will be paced by the middle of our order that will
include seniors Joe Fulcher and Jacob Sawyers, juniors Brennan
Hollie and Austin Perry, sophomore catcher Steven Kendrick. We have
the potential to be a very powerful line-up this spring, but that
all depends on how hard we want to continue to work at improving and
getting better every single day. I believe from top to bottom we
will be a strong offensively line-up.
Defensively our biggest strength is our experience. We only lost one
starter from our team that lost in the district championship and
made the playoffs last year. Same thing as our offense though, our
defense will only be as good as we allow it to be. We must continue
to come to work every single day. But returning 8 starters is
definitely a plus when it comes to situations in a game that cannot
be simulated during practice.
Pitching could end up being our biggest strength. Obviously we will
be paced by our Vanderbilt signee, Joe Fulcher. But we also have
Jacob Sawyers, who signed with Freed-Hardeman, we have LHP Dusty
Baker who is returning from injury last season and will be a great
addition to our staff, we have our starting SS Corey Simmons who
threw the district championship for us last year, we have our
starting seond baseman Austin Cousar who made 5 starts on the mound
last year, we have our starting catcher Steven Kendrick who as a
freshmen last year pitched and competed great against great teams
such as CBHS and Arlington, we have Austin Perry who will also be a
DH and play some outfield for us, and we have Nick Johnson who is a
sophomore LHP that will round out our staff. We have a lot of depth
this year on the mound, which I hope causes a lot of internal
competition which will cause us to come to work hard every single
day.
"I am really looking forward to this spring with my guys. We play
in a great district which is also located in a great region on this
side of the state. We have a very tough schedule this year which
means we must come ready to play every single day. As corny as it
may sound we are just going to try and take it one game at a time.
We have a chance to have a good year this year but it comes down to
how hard we want to work on a daily basis. We have a lot of great
competitors and young men in this program. I couldn't ask for a
better group of guys."

1 Cullen Smith SR/INF
2 Drew Trice SR/INF
3 Ryan Hill JR/RHP,OF
4 Dawson Hamilton JR RHP /1B
5 Chase Ford JR/C,OF
6 Ethan Shelton Soph/OF
2016 TEAM OUTLOOK:
Wilson Central will be replacing 6 of 9 starters for the 2016
season. Offensively the Wildcats will look to (Sr.)Cullen Smith,
(Jr.)Dawson Hamilton, and (Soph.)Ethan Shelton to produce in the
middle of the lineup. (Sr.)Drew Trice and (Jr.)Chase Ford will need
to be table setters in order for this offense to be productive.
Several newcomers will battle for at bats early in the season. This
team has many question marks going in to the season and we will look
forward to some young guys stepping up.
Defensively we will be solid around the horn. (Sr.)Cullen Smith and
(Sr.)Drew Trice will play the middle with (Sr.)Travis Smart and (Jr.)Dawson
Hamilton at the corners. Our outfield spots are wide open with
several players battling for positions. Look for (Soph.)Ethan
Shelton to man left field while (Sr.)Trevor Wimmer, (Jr.)Mason
Mobley, (Jr.)Ryan Hill, and (Sr.)Jacob Davis compete for the other
two spots. Catching duties will be handled by a pair of juniors -
Chase Ford and Peyton Hill.
The Wildcat pitching staff for 2016 will be young and
inexperienced. Several guys have matured and worked hard over the
past year but still are unproven. (Jr.)Ryan Hill, (Sr.)Trevor Wimmer,
(Jr.)Andrew Franklin, and (Sr.)Jacob Davis will be the top 4 arms
that we will look to early in the season. (Sr.)Tyler Higdon, (Jr.)Zach
Smith, and (Soph.)Aaron Hubbell will push for innings. In order for
us to be successful our pitching staff has got to continue to mature
and give us quality innings.
I am excited about the potential of this team. They have worked hard
in the off season and are looking forward to building on a
successful 2015 year. We are going to have to have guys step up and
produce in order for us to compete in a very tough district.

they outfield. Andrew Beamn will be behind the plate as a senior

OFFENSE: Graduated 7 of 9 every day starters and offensive leaders.
Cooper Brenning and Grant Williams will be our only two returning

a lot of speed, experience, and mental toughness from last years
group. Hopefully this year's group will rise to the challenge.

2016 has a lot of question marks and untested players as we begin
the season. This group has played together for a long time just not
at the varsity level. Our schedule will test us early and hopefully
prepare us for the postseason. Offense will be our biggest question
mark. We are excited about getting on our new turf field at Drakes
Creek Park. The boys have worked really hard all summer and in the
off season and are eager to make their own mark and build on the
success of last year's team.

COMMENTS
1 Allen Denhart 2016/ss/p (rh) Allen will be our number
one arm, play short, and be our three hole hitter. He has worked
extremely hard to improve his body in the offseason. Allen is 6'2
180. I expect him to have a big year at the plate and keep us in
games when he is on the mound. Defensively, he has turned into a
solid middle infielder. I think at the next level he is suited to
play 2nd base or 3rd. I am looking forward to big year from Allen in
his senior year. He played with the 18U Clarksville Orioles last
summer.
2 Tucker Lovelace 2017/c/1B (rh)
Tucker was thrusted into the starting role as a soph. last year.
He stepped up and ending up batting at the top of the lineup all
year. This year he will have a greater role on the team as he will
have to catch more this season due to some injuries. I have high
expectations for Tucker this year
2016 TEAM OUTLOOK:
Offensive we should be pretty solid in the 3,4,5 slot but still
trying to figure out who the leadoff and 2 hole guy are going to be.
We have several guys coming back that have seen varsity reps, so I
hope with that one year experience they will see a huge jump in
confidence. The offense will be led by Allen Denhart, Tucker
Lovelace, and Kyle Esquilin. A few juniors will have to step up and
fight for some spots. Who ever hits will most likely play between
Thomas Rose, Justin Williams, and Garret Masters.
Defensively we are returning several guys in key positions. Allen
Denhart and David Otero will be up the middle. Logan Moore can track
the ball down in center and Thomas Rose is an above average right
fielder defensively. Tucker Lovelace will have to do the majority of
the catching this year instead of Kyle Esquilin. Our defense should
be the most solid aspect of our game.
Allen Denhart will be our number one on the mound. He should keep
us in most games against other schools' top performer. We have Ryan
Bridenthal, Logan Moore, David Otero, and Tyler Woodbury that should
see a lot of varsity innings this year. I hope to develop a few more
arms as the season goes along.
This year's tam has great chemistry and has worked extremely hard
in the offseason to getting stronger and faster. The team has set
high expectations for themselves. I hope all their hard work this
offseason will translate into several wins for us. |

COMMENTS
1Channing Ratliff SR RHP/SS/2B
solid player led last years pitching staff
2 Zach Dixon SR RHP/C/OF/SS/3B
big time hitter
3 Preston Rogers Jr P
4 Dillon Zites Sr RHP/ INF
5 Jahnal Browne Sr OF/P
blazing fast
6 Marcus Picquet Sr OF
2016 TEAM OUTLOOK: Northwest looks to be a contender in the District
10 AAA. A solid group of Seniors lead the team on the mound and in
the field. Channing Ratliff, Zack Dixon, Dillon Zites and Jahnal
Browne lead a group of 8 Seniors. The team is poised for a great
season. Juniors Preston Rogers, Shawn King, Jhonny Price, and Jacob
Myers along with Sophmores Kedondre Crawford, Hank Baskin, Javon
Greer and Hunter Silverstrim provide quality depth. There will be
solid competition all year for playing time.
The pitching rotation will be deep and solid. Ratliff, Dixon, Zites,
Rogers, Shawn and Jamie King, Conner Robinson, Greer all have a
chance to give the Vikings Quality starts, while Elijah Catlett,
Brandon Dortholina, Dawson Arms and others provide solid relief. Sr.
lefty Courtney Griffin, Sr. Jahnal Browne, Jr. Jacob Myers could
both start and appear in relief.
The offense will be the thing to watch for the Vikings. If the bats
come around the Northwest team will be a tough out come tournament
time. They should be fast and aggressive on the base-path. Again the
competion will be tough with as many as 16-18 players battling for
at-bats. Seniors Browne, Dixon, Dortholina, Picquet, Zites, and
Convier will be pushed by Robinson, Price, Cavera, Baskin, Jarvis,
Greer, and Crawford. With the potential of the underclassmen the
Seniors and juniors will have to produce in order to stay in the
lineup.
Quote "If we can learn that we is more important than me- we have a
chance to be a solid team. There is a bunch of talent in our dugout
and if we all work together we can accomplish some big things. We
(coaches) are trying to instill an attitude of effort, hustle and
competitive spirit. We are trying to raise our kids expectations and
push them to achieve more than they think that they can. They are
learning how to work hard and give great effort in all that they do
and hopefully we will begin to see the fruits of our hard work."

8 Ethan Smith (SO/RHP/SS) R/R (1-1/5 Saves/0.37 ERA/20

2016 TEAM OUTLOOK: Our offense has several returnees from last years
team. We have some athletic players that will hopefully put some
pressure on the opposing team with speed and gap power. We have a
couple kids that have the potential do some really good things at
the plate.
Our defense will take some time to develop as several of our
guys that are returning will be in different spots. We will have to
see who fits in the best and where. We have the potential to be
solid but it might take some time. If we can find a defense that can
enhance our pitching, we should have a chance to be pretty good.
Pitching will be the strength of our team. We have most of our
guys from last year returning and several young guys that got a lot
of experience. We have a couple power arms and hope they become
leaders of our staff.
After a decent season in 2015 where we finished 22-12, we hope
to improve in all areas to be a better team in 2016. The guys have
worked really hard in the off season and we have matured in a lot of
areas. We are looking forward to an exciting 2016.

1 Luke Chilcutt- Jr. RHP/SS Very good upside
improving and getting several looks at the next level 6'1" 175
2 Teal Young- Jr. LHP/Utl. 6'3" Lefty had great
success as Soph. great feel for pitching
3 Kendall Tyrell Jr. C
Very good soph. season will see some time at 1B as well.
4 Skylar Luna So. SS/3B/Utl. Played very well until injury 3/4 of
the way thru season plus fielding tools & hitter.
5 Ryan Streeter Sr. OF
Has played and hit for past two years. I expect a big jump as he has
really filled out.
6 Cody Spurgeon Jr. RHP
Threw a lot as Soph. and expect him to battle for one of our top
pitching spots
2016 TEAM OUTLOOK: This group is very young with only three seniors
on entire roster! We have a lot of open competition for staff and
position player spots this spring. If this team can learn to battle
together with a very tough early schedule I feel we will be solid
when it matters in May! We will rely on pitching and defense as we
always have. Up the middle defense will be seasoned this year after
playing together in 2016. Our outfield defense will be new with
several spots up for grabs currently. Catching improves with Tyrell
back and Lindsay returning from arm surgery. Our offense will have to
make up for big losses from last year. We will have to execute
better to be able to score the runs we need consistently.
Overall I like our effort in conditioning/open facilities so far! I
look forward to opening of practice to see how these guys will
handle adversity!

CLASS/POS. COMMENTS
1 Luke Brown RHP/2B/RH Soph.pitcher with command with all
of pitches, Will be a number one or two pitcher.
2 Payton Hix RHP/OF/RH Senior: As Jr. had surgery with fix
his ankle. He is now healthy and ready to go. Hix will help us not
only at center field but also will help us on the mound possibly in
t
3 Brett Yates LHP/OF/LH Junior: Yates had a great year on
the mound as a sophomore and looks to improve on that this year. he
has matured as a baseball player and will be looking to be one of
the top arms this year.
4 Jeremy Dillingham RHP/1B/RH Junior: a player that has taken the
"captain" role if you will. will be at first base with a key spot in
the lineup also
5 Carter Singlton RH/3B sophomore: new player to the team
this year and has came out swinging. Singlton shows real talent and
will a big help to us this year in the infield or any role that he
might end up in.
6 Hunter Arnett RH/C Junior: Hunter is going to the the
number one catcher this year, he played 3rd/2nd some last year but
as of not will be starting behind the dish.
2016 TEAM OUTLOOK: as the baseball season roles around and being a
first time head coach you never really know what to expect going
into it. I think that these boys have work hard enough that we just
might make some noise this year and just might surprise some people.
The offensive side of the game is where we might struggle some at
the beginning since we are a really young team, But some guys have
really shown improvement over the past few months. Defense and
pitching is where I like to put the most into the game, and this is
where I think this team will shine. Defensively we have several guys
I can put out there on any given day and guys that I trust to go out
there...same with the pitching. we have both young and experienced
arms ready to go. wrapup- overall this is going to be a young team
that i put out on the field so I'm going to have to expect some
"young" errors early in the year but this team has a lot of
potential and it will be exciting to see them in action for the
first time on FEB 20th against another opponent... |

NAME CLASS/POS. COMMENTS
1 James Rockwell Sr./RHP 4 year starter. James has a number of
pitches and gives us a great chance to win
2 Jordan Mason Jr./CF Jordan because is capable of great
things. 6.55/60 All Region as a Soph. 6'2 190
3 Andy Denning Jr./DH Batted .410 as a Soph. 6'2 175
4 Bailey Russell Jr./ C 1.71 POP time. One of the best
in our district
2016 TEAM OUTLOOK:
GHS will return two all region performers in Andy Denning (.410
avg) and Jordan Mason (.375 avg), but the leaders of this team will
focus on three quality seniors.
James Rockwell, Billy Campbell, and Carlos Hernandez will bolster
the Greenwave offense with power and the ability to move runners
around the bases. According to Coach Wilson, " We want to pressure
defenses by running the bases and taking opportunities when they are
presented".
On Defense, the Wave will have Carlos Hernandez at first, Nathan
Kernell, Matthew Jackson, Brady Harris, and James Rockwell will man
2B and SS. Austin McWhirter will handle 3B, while Bailey Russell and
Andy Denning provide quality play behind the plate. One of the
strengths this year will lie in the OF where Billy Campbell, Jordan
Mason, DeAndre Brown, Noah Huddleston, and Matthew Jackson will all
play the three spots. "I would have a pretty good 4x400 relay team
with any of those guys" Wilson joked.
The GHS pitching staff will rotate around four capable players.
Rockwell, Campbell, Hernandez, and McWhirter. All of these young men
saw a number of innings last year. The only southpaw of the staff is
Hernandez, who will see much of his time in relief.
Playing in District 9AAA is always a challenge, but the
Greenwave is respectful and ready to improve last years results.
"Our guys have worked extremely hard preparing for this season",
observed Coach Wilson.

COMMENTS
1 Justin West SR/RHP/OF Closer last year, but picked a couple
starts and got big wins. All District 10AAA, .362
2 Benji Burchwell SR/RHP Battle some arm injuries last season,
but expected to be a big contributor this year.
3 Mitch Rogers JR/RHP Battling for the top spot in the
rotation. Good velo and stuff, but still learning
4 Collin Loose JR/RHP Also battling for a top spot. Good
down angle, and also good stuff
5 Christian Scott SO/CF All District last year as a
freshman. hit over.400 and also stole over 20 bases
6 Will Primasing SO/2B Expecting big things. Good
hitter with a great approach
2016 TEAM OUTLOOK: This year as most we will lean heavily on
pitching. We have 4 guys battling for the top two spots, along with
multiple relievers. The pitching staff will be made up of guys with
varsity experience, and should lead this team. We lost 4 senior,
and each of them had a significant role last season. We have 4
seniors again this year, and expect the same from them. West,
Burchwell, Rogers, and Loose all have the potential to be top of the
rotation guys. Each one will be asked to take that role on this
year. Archie Hobson and Primasing will also see quality innings.
Offensively we will be lead by Sophomore Christian Scott who hit
well over .400 last year. West also returns who anchored our team
last year. We should be able to move the ball and put pressure on
the defense. Primasing looks to have a big year at the plate as
well. We have some speed, and some gap power that should help us
produce some runs.
Defensively, we need to find a consistent SS. Chris Barnes looks to
be that guy for us. We have 5 solid Outfielders, and return 3
infielders. Behind the plate will be Roman Moore and Keenon Helms.
This team could be a contender if they buy into what our program
preaches, and has a chance to compete everyday. I would like to see
their work ethic improve, and that will lead over to the field. All
in all, I believe this team will compete and have a good season. |

2016 TEAM OUTLOOK: We should be a tough team defensively with some
kids coming back that got a lot of playing time as we finished in
the sectional finals last year. Good senior leadership with a strong
starting three pitchers. We will have a few question marks on
offense this year with only three or 4 returning players that played
a lot last year. Looking forward to this year because I am not
really sure what to expect. The kids have been working their tails
off to get ready for the season so it should be a fun and exciting
year!!!
